Alpha ePay is owned by Alpha Global IP Pty Ltd which is part of the Alpha Group Companies.

The Alpha Group Companies were incorporated to generate funding for the development, operation, and commercialisation of the Alpha eMarket, and Alpha ePay an economic model created by the model's chief architect John Paul Bunting CTB.

In order to realise his vision John bought together a team of professionals and entrepreneurs to participate on an Advisory Board to add value to the project through their skill sets in law, accounting, IT, and marketing, and their experience in the alternative currency industry.
